Sail Around the MIMAROPA
The scope of "MIMAROPA" embraces four of the most interesting island groups in the Central and Western Philippines: Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. This page introduces MIMAROPA and provides some insight as to why it is considered to contain some of the most beautiful cruising destinations in the Philippines.
If one was to describe each island in the fewest words they would be: mountainous; mineral rich; diversity; and, endemic habitat. To be more informative then one would have to say that all four groups share most of the attributes that each excel in.
If you only have a couple of weeks available then choose just one island group because to enjoy them all could take you six months, or more.
Mindoro
The island of Mindoro is unique in many respect but primarily for the mountain range that runs North to South along the entire island. The forested mountain sides have offered shelter and home to indigenous species and also to migratory birds seeking warmer climbs during the northern winter.
